The Quote Lie

One lie in real estate leads to another. It catches almost every homeseller. It is the lie told to homesellers about the ‘market value’ of their home “The Quote Lie”.

 WARNING

The competition for real estate agents today is sellers not buyers. Agents need homes to sell which are called listings, NO LISTINGS – NO SALES.

Sellers speak with several agents in order to choose the best one but on many occasions this can cause you to end up with the worst agent.

“What is my home worth?” Agents know that you will be asking the same questions to other agents and if they tell you the truth they know that the other agents will lie to you and over quote your home, are most likely to be chosen.

THUS, THE BIGGEST LIAR WINS THE LISTINGS AND BUYS THE LISTING

No matter how hard it is for an agent to tell the truth, over quoting (buying the listing) is deceptive and difficult to notice.

TO ENTICE BUSINESS ON THE BASIS OF A LIE IS FRAUD

It is easy later for an agent to say “I’ve made an honest mistake” even though it is done time and time again to thousands of sellers.

THE TURTH IS THAT AGENTS FEEL THAT IF THEY ARE HONEST ABOUT THE PRICE,

THEY WILL NOT BE CHOSEN.

Everyone’s home is special to them and feel their home is worth more, the reason why they want to believe the agent who quotes the highest and they become trapped by the ‘Quote Lie’.

PEOPLE WHO HEAR WHAT THEY LIKE/WANT DO NOT SEE THAT INFORMATION IS A LIE

Remember, if the sale process begins with a lie then it is likely the entire experience will be full of lies. One lie leads to more lies to cover the first lie, this happens all the time in real estate.
